Seasons come and seasons go but fall will always be my favorite.  To be honest growing up I was always a summer girl.  I lived most of my life in Florida and for that reason summer activities were endless.  Summer parties, lakes, and the beach what else could a young Florida girl ask for?  Summer was my paradise.  This however changed after I moved to North Carolina.  Summer became a short hot period of downtime before the fall semester began again.  Moving to North Carolina was the first time I ever remember experiencing the seasons changing slowly.  Being a Florida native meant it was hot, warm, or cool year around but mostly just hot.  A never ending summer.

Living in a state with barely any changes in seasons to being able to experience all four seasons made my heart filled with all of the excitements of each new season.  Each new season giving me a sense of hope and wonder.  As a child growing up in a conservative Christian home the only thing celebrated in the fall was Thanksgiving.  To be honest up until very recently Thanksgiving was my least favorite holiday.  We didn't celebrate Halloween.  No costumes, candy, fun or scary movies.  Maybe a fall festival if a church was involved.  So experiencing all of the things forbidden as a child that I was now able to experience as a young adult became so much fun for me.  I did wonder during this time how old is too old to participate in these festivities?  I quickly learned you can never be too old because now I have a son and nieces and nephews to enjoy these fun fall activities with.  My heart is full with the time I get to cherish with each and everyone of them.

At the beginning of this wonderful and exciting season I start off by making a list of movies and books to read and watch that go with this wonderful season.  The first movie I have chosen is Underworld, which is actually a series.  Not just one movie.  These movies  are filled with vampires, warewolves, hybrids, and magic.  I look forward to watching the entire series this fall.

Underworld: My Review

When the movie opens the rain is falling, the darkness of night is all around you and the fighting between two ancient rivals begins.  After a few intense scenes of back and forth fighting you begin to realize that this is an epic tale of an underworld that we humans are not invited to and the beginning of a beauriful love story.  A love story between the vampire "Death Dealer" Selene and the humam about to turn hybrid Michael.  As a viewer this movie made me want to be apart of this secret world and wonder what it would be like if I were a vampire or if vampires were actually real and it was unknown to us who live in the daylight.
The darkness, heavy rain, and shadowy cityscapes create a scene of an ancient fued between Vampire and Lycan.  Each scene is beautifully choreographed.  The fight scenes are like watching a ballet with smooth movements.  It's like watching beauty in the darkness.
Is Underworld the best movie ever made.  No, but is it fun to watch?  Absolutely!
